Young designer wins wool fashion award

Sydney designer Dion Lee has won the 2010 Melbourne Fashion Festival Designer Awards.

The event is part of an annual marketing push to promote Australian Wool Innovation's Woolmark brand.

AWI says it's a chance for young designers to make it big in the world of fashion.

24-year-old Mr Lee says he's taking the $10,000 cash prize and heading on the AWI-hosted trip to Paris.

"Wool as a fabric is beautiful. It is great to sew with, it presses amazingly and it molds to the body," he says.
